‘Poisonville’
– electronic (video & audio), duration: 1mins 50secs

Description of work:

‘Poisonville’ is inspired by the book ‘Red Harvest’ by Dashiell Hammett and experiences of living in Montana, USA. ‘Poisonville’ in Hammett’s book refers to Butte, Montana – a copper mining town that was at its zenith at the turn of the 19thC. It soon fell into decline after all the copper was extracted. Today the town now exhibits a faded façade of former wealth and prowess that has long since deserted the streets and buildings that once bustled with a ‘frontier’ life of gambling, corruption, prostitution and crime.
